I am a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), offering people with chronic health conditions supportive consultation and coaching as a certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) and Wellness Coach. I have personal experience navigating chronic illness and chronic pain. I work to support clients to regain energy and rebuild safety in movement and nourishment.
There are huge gaps in the system for supporting patients with chronic illnesses; very few providers can take the time to offer patient education or tools that help you manage symptoms as they arise. My approach is to systematically address symptoms to help you end the pain-and-flare cycles through adaptive exercises, nutrition guidance, pain management techniques, and wellness coaching.
I offer virtual appointments and personalized plans that you can do in the comfort of your own home. I live in the Burlington Vermont area and have a wealth of provider connections for local patients. I am certified to work with patients all over the country and will continue to build my referral network to better serve all my clients.
I have a background in public health and have a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a Master's in Business, with a focus on entrepreneurship and sustainability. I was on disability leave for five years, but thanks to an amazing support team I have been able to regain strength and energy. I am passionate about helping others with chronic illnesses do the same. My goal is to share everything I have learned as a patient and through my certifications. It is important to me that I can share as much information as possible with anyone seeking help. What I hope to do with my social media and blog is to provide helpful content that anyone can take and use on their own. I offer clients additional accountability and a sounding board to navigate the complexities of chronic illness and healthcare.
In my free time, I am in our community garden plot with my husband and snuggling up reading with our cat Norman. My favorite form of exercise is swimming, but I also enjoy pilates, restorative yoga, and my recumbent bike.
I love to paint watercolors and acrylics and block print, you will see my artwork on my Instagram Account @presence_works. I want to create relevant art that celebrates body diversity in the fitness space and the experience of living with chronic illness. I have a painting showing this year in the Inclusive Arts Vermont Cycles Exhibit.
